Jamie Oliver's New Scooter
Jamie is well known for his love of scooters, he auctioned off his old scooter a few years ago and decided it was time to get another one.
Seeing us on the internet, he called up Scooter Central and ordered one of our Black Tamoretti 50cc Retros.
Jamie was on the Chris Moyles' Radio 1 show and was extolling the virtues of his new Tamoretti. The next day we got a call from Jamie’s PR people asking if we would like to donate a Tamoretti scooter to his charity 'The 15' Foundation.
The 15 Foundation is a registered charity founded in 2002 to take forward Jamie Oliver’s vision of offering young people a unique opportunity to change their lives by becoming chefs.
Every year Jamie hosts 'a big night out with 15' where the great and the good assemble to support the foundation and raise money for the charity. This year’s event took place at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London on the 4th November. The night was a tremendous success with Jamie and his friends, Katie Brand, Jamie Cullen and Sophie Dahl, to name but a few and raised over a quarter of a million pounds for the Fifteen Foundation.
The evening’s guests were offered the chance to buy a key to unlock the scooter, during the evening guests went on stage to try their key to see if they were the winner. This part of the event raised £2,800 for the charity.
